Scripture of the day: "'Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?' And Jesus began to say to them, 'See to it that no one misleads you. Many will come in My name, saying, "I am He!" and will mislead many. When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. But be on your guard; for they will deliver you to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them. The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.'" Mark 13:5-10
Thought of the day: There have been many signs of the times for important points in the world's spiritual history. Jesus described some of those signs in Mark 13. Reading that chapter is like reading today's world news. His signs of the times are signs of today's times.
Challenge of the day: Jesus gave clear instructions with His predictions ... good instructions for us. He said, "See to it that no one misleads you." That means that there are those who are trying to mislead. Be careful of false Messiahs who mislead many. And He said to "not be frightened" when you hear of wars and rumors of wars. Earthquakes, famines, arrests, and persecutions will come ... and it will get worse. Why does He delay His return? He delays to get the Gospel to all nations. Are you doing your part to spread the Gospel? Are you ready if the time is today?
