December 25

Scripture of the day: "While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:6-7

Thought of the day: The birth of Jesus was God's great communication to man. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:1, 14. Jesus was God in the likeness of man ... undiminished deity in human form ... fully God and fully man at the same time. The King of Kings came to earth as a newborn baby. Mary laid her baby in a feeding troth as His cradle ... an appropriate place for the One who said, "I am the bread of life ... that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh." John 6:48-51.

Challenge of the day:  Christmas celebrates God sending Jesus to us, John 3:16. But Jesus came to earth to die. We must look at His birth and death. His death provided the greatest gift ever given ... the gift of eternal life, Romans 6:23. But that gift is not yours unless you receive it by faith. On this Christmas day be sure that you have received His gift. Without your step of faith, that gift is not yours. Don't leave your greatest Christmas present unopened. Click here: Gospel/911God to learn how to receive His gift. This Christmas can be your spiritual birthday.
