Scripture of the day: "There was again a large crowd and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples and said to them, 'I feel compassion for the people because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance.' And His disciples answered Him, 'Where will anyone be able to find enough bread ... to satisfy these people?' And He was asking them, 'How many loaves do you have?' And they said, 'Seven.' And He directed the people to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and broke them, and started giving them to His disciples to serve to them, and they served them to the people." Mark 8:1-6

Thought of the day:  Four thousand people went to Jesus ... to a desolate place near the Sea of Galilee. They brought their sick ... and He healed them. After three days, it was time to send them back to their homes. However, they had no food and some had traveled a great distance. Jesus compassionately and miraculously fed them. Then He sent them home.

Challenge of the day: Jesus healed many of them. And then He fed them all. These miracles illustrate His power ... but all His miracles do that. These specifically illustrate His compassion. Jesus loved them. And He loves you. He loved you so much that He took on your sins on the cross. He loved you that much then ... and He loves you now. Has someone that you love betrayed you? Has a loving relationship ended abruptly? Do you feel alone and unloved? Believe God's Word! You are not alone ... He is with you. And you are not unloved ... He loves you.
