Scripture of the day: "Jesus had said to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are forgiven." Mark 2:5.

Thought of the day:  The scribes thought He was blaspheming because only God can forgive sins. They didn't understand that He was God. Therefore Jesus healed the paralytic so that all in the house would know that He had authority to forgive sins ... proving that He was God. The man picked up his pallet and carried it out of the house. Everyone was amazed. The people glorified God. They had never seen anything like that.

Challenge of the day:  What was the greatest miracle that Jesus ever performed? Was it this healing of the paralytic? Was it walking on the Sea of Galilee? Was it healing the blind man ... or raising Lazarus? No ... it was none of these! His greatest miracle was solving our sin problem. His greatest miracle was performed on the cross when He paid for our sins. But His greatest miracle doesn't benefit you unless you receive His free gift of forgiveness. Being good today and tomorrow can't remove the guilt of yesterday's sins. The only way to be forgiven is by taking the step of faith of believing in Jesus.
